Day 4 on holiday in Wanaka -Skiing in whiteout conditions

We chose to do another day of skiing at Cadrona, but the conditions were a lot different this time.

It was snowing all day, with lots of powdery snow, because a foot (30cm) of snow had fallen the night before.
Visibility was quite limited in these conditions, which caused all these new technical issues for us.

Although the course down the mountain had marker flags to show where to go, sometimes you could only see the next one, but you couldn’t make out the contour of the land even with snow goggles on.
I needed to focus on those marker flags, because that was my only point of reference to know if I was actually moving.

You couldn’t see the ground you were on, so you had to ski by ‘feel’. Occassionally we got it wrong and came to a stop on a flat part or ran into the rough.

Anyway, my youngest daughter persevered on ski’s and got used to it. In the end, she simply followed other skier’s around.

I was using a snowboard, which had it’s own issues because sometimes I’m facing back up the hill and can’t see a thing, also any turns were done essentially blindfolded.

I kept going on a snowboard (sort of) with the occassional unscheduled stop. I was thankful for the soft snow, because landing on my ass all the time never does me any good.

Anyway, here’s a picture of a snowman..

Red Remembrance day

A significant number of people have been injured by those covid vaccines that were so ‘important’ a few years ago.

These people are constantly ignored and gaslit by Health services here in NZ. That happens because of an attitude that they were ‘nessessary colateral damage in the war against covid’.

Red Remembrance day remembers these people as they struggle with their injuries with no help from any Government services.

The speaker in the video below is Lynda Wharton from ‘The Health Forum’ -they had 60,000 followers on facebook until they were suddenly deplatformed over night.

The event was organised by NZDSOS (NZ doctors SOS) https://nzdsos.com/
