I’ve never been religious, at best I am a libertarian agnostic -if you believe in god thats your choice, just dont aggressively push it on me.
The covid years in NZ have been challenging and sometimes it felt like we were very much alone as we were constantly discriminated against (eg, been barred from cafes, libraries, gym, jobs, etc)
A notable thing is that the majority of our newfound friends who stood with us as we stood up against the covid hysteria/scamdemic are quietly religious.
Every now and then, I find an article that says exactly how I feel, so here’s one about my attitude to doctors.
About a month ago, I underwent my annual physical. I’m required to do this to keep my medical insurance. As I generally avoid medical treatment, I don’t value medical insurance as highly as do most other people. On a society-wide basis, medical expenditures deliver poor return on investment. While 2010’s Affordable Care Act has extended…
The company I work for has had a change of management -out went the pragmatic ones with a high level of emotional IQ (EQ).
In came the new ones who are purily academic office types with no practical skills, and a lack of acknowledgement or respect for years of experience amongst the existing staff.
Then our manager went away on holiday, and as they say ‘when the cats away, the mice will play’
An incident was blown all out of proportion, and they were then busy constructing a narrative to frame their favoured scrapgoat It all went away miraculously when our manager reappeared.
(It seems they realised they didn’t have enough on him to guarantee a win).
This is how it generally plays out in a toxic company. politics, rather than ability decides your fate. If your a pragmatic sort of person who just likes to do a good job and go home, this sort of thing is highly annoying, as you end up having to cover your ass (CYA), and second guess crappy peoples intentions all the time.
The best solution to this predicament is just to get the hell out of there, before it starts getting you down.,
It’s ideal though, to treat finding your next job as an opportunity, rather than a means of escape from something negative.
