A cyclone was predicted for the weekend, which turned out to be a bit of a fizzer.
Rather handidly though, it did rain a fair amount which filled our water tanks, and created ideal conditions for pulling out prickles and other weeds around our property.
Pulling out prickles when it’s dry generally means a lot of effort, and even then the roots tend to break off. In the wet it’s easy peasy and they come out with a gentle pull.

It may have been raining while I’m doing this, but the ducks and geese don’t care about rain, and they watched me with interest. (or perhaps they think I’ve bringing them food)

The last chore of the day is clearing the gutters…

I don’t care how much people extoll the virtues of trees. I’ve found that they’re a lot of work. They clog the rain gutters, they require raking, trimming, and, where I live, watering. And sometimes they fall on houses, cars, or people. I think that I shall never see, anything as toilsome as a tree.

Those dead tree’s in the last photo are now logs waiting to be cut up for firewood, which I guess would put a smile on your face.
