It finally happened it seems, because it was constantly brought to their attention that the world had moved on from covid and the NZ health department hadn’t.

Or another words, they had a fear of been an ‘outsider’.

Note that science, facts, data, etc, didn’t seem to have a lot to do with the decision.

Also notable is the timing -just before xmas when everyone’s distracted.

Still, I shouldn’t moan I guess, the right decisions have been made, even if for the wrong reasons. It doesn’t give me a lot of confidence about them though..
