April 2021: “Sri Lanka will become first country to be free of chemical fertilizer”, the Sri Lankan news website News First reported: COLOMBO (News 1st); President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has stated that he will take up the challenge in making Sri Lanka the first country in the world to eliminate the use of chemical fertilizers without…
For the last year, liberals have demanded hysterically that everyone be vaccinated against covid. Many people who preferred not to be vaccinated, for whatever reason, have lost their jobs. Others have been denied access to restaurants and other public accommodations. But how well do the covid vaccines actually work? Relatively soon after they became available, […]
The government has been losing ground in the polls recently.
The anti-mandate protest in Wellington, was violently ended by the Police recently, and this has had a profound effect on public opinion, even if the Government still refuses to acknowledge the protest at all.
Given that the whole country went into a lockdown over a single case of delta last year, there’s little confidence out there that we won’t go thru the whole lockdown/mandate thing again on a whim.
The unvaxxed were marginalised and treated like lepers, and they aren’t going to forget easily. I, for one, have a list of shops that will never see me again.
A parrallel economy?
Since the government effectively created a two class system in NZ (vaxxed and unvaxxed), This has led to the idea of taking measures to remove any influence the government has on a semi permanent basis.
For example, the ‘Voices For Freedom’ group setup and organised ‘Play On’ for unvaccinated children that got banned from participating in sport.
Another example is a growing number of small groups all over the country setting up community farms, vege markets, etc. this is due to expected food shortages, which are already starting to happen.
Some of them are also looking at ways of reducing their dependence on electricity supplies, by installing ‘off grid’ solar power systems
There is even talk about some sort of alternative currency, partly because of the fear of bank accounts been frozen as they were in Canada recently.
A lot of these people are also concerned with ‘the great reset’, ‘5G’, ‘digital currency’, etc. These are usually seen as conspiracy theories by the average person here, but then again, that average person is walking around outside, wearing a mask…
I’m open minded about it all, because there’s just too much weird stuff going on at the moment.
How this will pan out for the future, I’m not sure, but it does certainly underline the lack of confidence and trust in the Government.
The way forward..
On a positive note, our local anti -mandate group has been organising low profile get togethers in a very public place’s.
The aim of these is just to get people used to the idea that maybe they don’t need to wear a mask, and that it’s OK to just chill out…
