ANZAC day, 2023

ANZAC day here in New Zealand (25 April), is the day we remember those who served in the First and Second World War, but never returned.

The dawn parade (6AM) was larger this year because the later Civic parade at 10AM was cancelled because of council cutbacks, apparently.

This year saw the welcome return of the Army, Navy, Air force, and Police, who never officially attended last year because of covid politics. https://uncoffined.wordpress.com/2022/04/25/anzac-day-life-goes-on-while-the-government-doubles-down/

It was again, pleasing that a large number of the general public came and paid their respects.

It’s become obvious that this was allowed to happen. There were police present, but they just stood around.
