Wanaka is in the south of the south island of NZ.
I’ve been to Wanaka a few times over the years. The first time was a flying visit in 1985 on a motorcycle when I was 19…ish.
I didn’t stay long then, but it did have a good vibe to it, like some out of the way smaller places do.
