Covid is fading away into irelevance here in NZ in a sort of serepticious and subtle way, rather than with a big bang as I had always expected.

One
My Employer has always followed Government guidelines as did every other corporate company without question.
Last month my employer advised us to follow MOH (Ministry of health) recommendations and we should stay at home for at least 5 days if you test positive for covid. (it’s notable that getting a sick note from a doctor isn’t possible, because they wont see you)
This month, they vaguely tell us in a very roundabout way that it’s only a recommendation from the MOH, and if you feel fine, just come back to work.

I overheard a conversation from a very frustrated man who had had all his vaccinations, but still managed to catch covid for a second time. He was sick for a whole 3 days..

A workmate and his wife went along with the whole covid/vax thing from the beginning.
They inexplicably suffered two misscarriages in a row, before they quietly woke up to what might be causing this.
I’m happy to report they have recently had a new addition to their family.
In conclusion, we are headed in the right direction, but it sort of puzzles me how the right decisions are made without any obvious ‘light bulb’ moments.
