My neighbor has a water blaster. Last month he water blasted the eaves of his back patio. It worked real great at getting the dirt off, but it also worked great at removing most of the paint. Now he has bare wood exposed to the elements, slowly drying and cracking in the sun.
Water blasters create a lot of work -once you have started water blasting something, you are committed to finishing the whole thing, otherwise it looks like crap. There is also a fine line between cleaning and destroying something.
