A day in timeless Te Aroha

Te Aroha is a small town that was famous for its mineral hot springs back in the late 1800’s

I’ve visited here often over the years as it was one of my favourite holiday spots in the carefree days when I was young and purposely single. It hasn’t changed much over the years, which I think is a good thing

A visit here is not complete until you have tried out the hot pools. You have to book them these days, but that is easily done online.
The water itself has a soapy feel to it, and is very relaxing. It also makes you very thirsty, so drink heaps of water!

The local park (domain) has a timeless feel to it, and always looks the same.

The museum shows off some of the interesting history of the area.

The rest of the day was spent following my wife, as she blissfully checked out every secondhand shop in the area.

    1. It’s a place I’ve used as a holiday spot for years, going right back to the late 1980’s. The local Youth hostel was small. but nice and always had a good vibe to it.
