ANZAC day is when New Zealand and Australia commerate those soldiers who served in the armed forces, but did not return.

The day started with the dawn ceremony starting at 6AM.
It was a typical brisk autumn morning, but the rain stayed away, so all good. It’s always quite dark at this time, so I never get good photo’s.

The ceremony itself was relatively brief and to the point.
Both the Australian and New Zealand national anthems were sung, as they worked together as a joint force in WW1.
One of the speakers mentioned that our comrades in Australia have the woke crowd trying to ‘cancel’ ANZAC day by saying the battle at Galipoli never happened..
Yeah.. good luck with that, might as well tell us the holocaust never happened while you are at it.
A hearty breakfast was provided by the local RSA (Returned Services Association) afterwards.
The 11AM service had about the same number attend, and I have much better photo’s..

The RSA put on a lovely lunch afterwards, which was up to their usual high standard.

Happy ANZAC Day!
