First up, some theory on electro-magnetic (radio) waves.

- Wavelength = speed of light / Frequency (speed of light =299,792,458 meters per second)
- 1 Khz = 1,000 hertz
- 1 Mhz = 1,000,000 hertz (frequency)
- 1 Ghz = 1,000,000,000 hertz
It’s the wavelength of a frequency that can do you damage, along with power, and if it’s focused / targeted at one point.
It’s important to note that as the frequency goes up, it’s range tends to get shorter
Examples of potentially harmful systems
Microwave Oven
- Power 1.2Kw
- Frequency 2.45Ghz
- Wavelength is 0.122mtr
- The microwaves are focused (concentrated) to the center of the oven.
- They are designed to only run with the door shut. If you manage to defeat the safety interlock and put your hand in there with it running, it can penetrate human skin to 17mm. That means some deep burns
ADS (active denial system) as used against anti-mandate protesters.
- Power 100Kw
- Frequency 95Ghz (95,000,000,000)
- Wavelength 0.0031
- range 700 mtrs
- These can penetrate human skin to 3.2mm, the victim gets a skin burning sensation
- A possible countermeasure is wearing aluminium foil.
- Another point to consider is the amount of power it uses, which means it needs a large generator or power leads setup. That means it’s not easily mobile, and requires time to setup in any location.
LRAD (long range acoustic device) -also used against protesters. This is an acoustic weapon, so not the same technology as everything else in this post.
- 160db (loudness)
- range 3000mtr
- Originally used by navies as a loud hailer.
- It was used at the Wellington protest on the final day, and also at Canberra, Australia
- It has 2 modes -siren mode (sound at 2-4mhz to cause max discomfort for the target)
- -voice amplification
Phone networks..
3G ran at 850 – 900 Mhz
4G was 700 or 1800 or 2600 Mhz, depending where you lived -it’s also faster than 3G because the data is packaged more efficiently
- 5G (actually 3.5 Ghz initially in NZ)
- very fast due to the much higher frequency
- range is quite short and would require a tower every 2 – 8 houses -signal is easily easily blocked by walls, structures, etc.
- controversial due to unknown long term health effects
Personally, I think the bigger problem is what 5G could be used for with the much faster data speeds -like big brother watching your every move.
GPS (global positioning system)
This is controlled by the US Government, other countries have developed their own system, least they be blocked from using it, as happened to the Indian military at one point.
Russia has GLOSNASS, India has Navic, etc
It uses satellites to find location -needs three of them to get the location and a forth one to determine altitude. Satellites are slow to talk, (up to a minute) and can easily be blocked by hills, etc.
AGPS (assisted GPS)
This uses your network service provider to speed things up, by reporting which cell phone tower you are connected to and how strong the signal is.
A typical phone is accurate to at least 5mtr

Bluetooth
GAEN or ENF (exposure notification framework) 2.402 – 2.48 GHZ
Later versions have a longer range -(BT5.0 -300mtr)
The major flaw is security and it’s going/gone out of fashion
It was used for contact tracing in New Zealand, but was effectively useless and caused of lot of false alarms. In the end, people just quietly switched it off, least you end up self isolating for no reason.
What Is The Range Of Bluetooth And How Can It Be Extended?

When contact tracing started, I started switching off my bluetooth. Even now I generally keep it off. I don’t trust it.
