My new daily ride

I’ve have given up on cycling these days.

My favourite cafe chose to enforce the mandates, so I haven’t been back since, In any event, I normally park up the bike over winter. I can never get the clothing right, and end up either too hot or cold. As for riding in the rain, I’ve already got the T shirt..

So lately, I’ve been riding a skateboard every other day to a local pro-choice cafe a few km’s away.

I’ve been tinkering with it to get the best out of it. Longboards are always prone to either trying to spit you off at high speed, or they are too hard to ride around corners (carving).

I fitted some new bushes which have a different shape to the old ones, which allow it to turn a lot easier.
I put a hard bush in the back end, and a softer one in the front. This is because most stability issues are caused by the back end been too loose.

I’ve tightened up both trucks so that when I’ve got it heeled right over, I have about a fingers worth of gap between the wheels and the board. Too little clearance, and you run the risk of a dramatic stop..

The board now handles real sweet.
