The new year has started, but not a lot of people are full of optimism because of the ‘C’ and ‘V’ thing.
The kids are doing fine thou, and I brought a bike for them to learn on, rather than hire one like we used to, at an off road track.

We brought this without actually looking at it in person and had it freighted down to us. It’s a bit high in the seat and the kids struggle with it a bit because of this.
I’ll fix that by getting another seat from somewhere, and cutting some of the foam out of it.
The bike is road legal, so it will be good for the kids to get their licence on later.
New Zealand is ramping up to Vaccinate kids in the next month. It will be said that it is ‘voluntary’ and not mandatory, but in reality they will be second class citizens if they dont get vaxxed.
Unvaxxed kids can’t compete in sports, get a drivers licence, go on camps etc. there is also the peer pressure from other kids. The good news is that support groups are been set up for them (not by the Government).
Our kids got next to no schooling for 4 months last year due to a lockdown, so this year we have moved them to another school to get a better education.
Even if there is another lockdown this year, our kids will be pretty much unaffected by it.
As for me, I’m just going day by day, week by week. It’s going to be an interesting year for all the wrong reasons. We’ll just have to suck it and see.

Yes, one day at a time. The vaccines are voluntary but really they’re not. I’m not sure how long I can hold out on my kids and I not being allowed anywhere. We are back to remote learning here; I’m trying to make the best of it.
