The weekly protest at at the Auckland domain was more of a low key affair this week, but it was notable for a long speech by Brian Tamaki of the Destiny Church.
He touched on a few issues, one was a mass media campaign against him, in retaliation for the ‘Gridlock event’ that inconvenienced a lot of motorists last week.
The other point that got mentioned was the probable intention by this Government to do away with ANZAC day (This is a national holiday in Australia & New Zealand that commemorates those who never returned from the Second World War).
It was pointed out that if Kiwi’s wont fight for this, what would they actually fight for?….
This is a very valid question for me, because I don’t go protesting for fun. I do it because I believe in something.
Unfortunately, I find that a lot of my fellow citizens simply go with the flow, and only get upset when they are personally inconvenienced somehow. They simply don’t look at the big picture and where the country is going.

On Sunday, my youngest daughter & I took part in the Groundswell protest. we spent several hours driving around central Auckland along with a bunch of tractors, with our car with protest slogans written all over it. We had just used whiteboard markers, so it all came off easily with a rag afterwards.
